MONGOLIAN BEEF


INGREDIENTS :


500 grams mince beef

1 teaspoon ground black pepper

4 minced garlic cloves

1/4 cup brown sugar

2 chopped scallion stalks

1/3 cup soy sauce

3 tablespoons hoisin sauce

1 tablespoon chili flakes

1 tablespoon minced ginger

1/4 cup water

2 tablespoons cornstarch


INSTRUCTIONS :


.On medium to high heat add 500 grams mince beef to frying pan

.cook for approximately 5 minutes, remove any excess juice or fat and set aside

.In same frying pan add 1/3 cup soy sauce on medium to low heat

.Add 1 tablespoon minced ginger, 4 minced garlic cloves

.Add 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce and stir

.Add 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1 teaspoon ground black pepper, 1 tablespoon chili flakes and stir

.In a glass mix 1/4 cup water, 2 tablespoons cornstarch

.Add mixture to frying pan and stir

.Add ground beef

.Add 2 chopped scallion stalks

.Cook for a further 3 to 5 minutes

.Serve with basmati rice
