1/4 CUP BREADCRUMBS

1 LARGE ONION ( chopped )

2 GARLIC CLOVES ( minced )

1 TABLESPOON VEGETABLE OIL

1 TABLESPOON OYSTER SAUCE

1/2 TEASPOON SALT

1/2 TEASPOON GROUND BLACK PEPPER

1 TEASPOON ONION POWDER

1 TEASPOON PAPRIKA

1 TEASPOON THYME

1/4 TEASPOON GINGER

1/4 TEASPOON CHILLI POWDER

3 TO 4 TABLESPOONS KETCHUP


DOUGH INGREDIENTS :

2 1/2 CUPS ALL PURPOSE FLOUR

1 TEASPOON SALT

1/2 TEASPOON ANNATTO POWDER

3 TEASPOONS TURMERIC

1 TEASPOON BAKING POWDER

1/2 TEASPOON BROWN SUGAR

1/2 CUP BUTTER

3/4 CUP & 3 TABLESPOONS BUTTER MILK

EGG WASH ( 1 large egg )


INSTRUCTIONS :


BEEF PREP :


.PRE HEAT OVEN FRYING PAN ON MEDIUM HEAT AND ADD 1 TABLESPOON VEGETABLE OIL

.ADD 1 LARGE ONION ( chopped ) & 2 GARLIC CLOVES ( minced )

.COOK UNTIL TENDER

.ONCE TENDER REMOVE FROM PAN AND SET ASIDE

.ADD 450 GRAMS OF MINCED BEEF TO FRYING PAN AND STIR

.ADD 1/2 TEASPOON SALT, 1/2 TEASPOON GROUND BLACK PEPPER, 1/4 TEASPOON GINGER, 1/4 TEASPOON CHILLI POWDER

.ADD 1 TEASPOON ONION POWDER, 1 TEASPOON PAPRIKA, 1 TEASPOON THYME, 1 TABLESPOON OYSTER SAUCE AND STIR WELL

.COOK UNTIL BROWN ONCE BEEF HAS BROWNED REMOVE EXCESS OIL AND PLACE BACK IN FRYING PAN

.ADD 3 TO 4 TABLESPOONS KETCHUP ADD COOKED ONION & GARLIC, COOK FOR A FURTHER 3 TO 4 MINUTES

.PLACE BEEF INTO A BLENDER AND BLEND FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS

.ADD 1/4 CUP BREADCRUMBS AND CONTINUE BLENDING UNTIL MIXTURE IS SMOOTHLY BLENDED


MAKING THE DOUGH :


.IN MIXING BOWL ADD 2 1/2 CUPS ALL PURPOSE FLOUR

.ADD 1 TEASPOON SALT, 1/2 TEASPOON ANNATTO POWDER, 3 TEASPOONS TURMERIC POWDER, 1 TEASPOON BAKING POWDER, 1/2 TEASPOON BROWN SUGAR & MIX WELL

.ADD 1/2 CUP BUTTER AND USE A FORK TO MIX UNTIL CRUMB CONSISTENCY

.GRADUALLY ADD 3/4 CUP BUTTERMILK WHILE MIXING

.ADD ANOTHER 3 TABLESPOONS OF BUTTERMILK AND CONTINUE MIXING

.ONCE MIXED SPRINKLE WITH FLOUR AND KNEAD FOR ABOUT 3 MINUTES

.PLACE DOUGH ON A FLOUR SPRINKLED FLAT SURFACE AND ROLL OUT UNTILL FLAT

.SPREAD BUTTER ON THE SURFACE OF THE DOUGH

.FOLD THE DOUGH & COVER WITH CLING FILM AND PLACE IN THE FRIDGE FOR 20 MINUTES

.SPRINKLE FLOUR ON A FLAT SURFACE, CUT THE DOUGH IN HALF AND ROLL OUT 1 HALF OF THE DOUGH

.WITH A POT LID CUT OUT CIRCLES


MAKING AND COOKING THE PATTIES


.PLACE A SPOON FULL OF BEEF MIX IN THE CENTRE OF EACH CIRCLE [ CHEESE OPTIONAL ]

.FOLD DOUGH OVER, PUSH DOWN IN THE CENTRE AND FORK THE EDGES TO CLOSE THE PATTIES

.REPEAT THIS PROCESS WITH THE SECOND HALF OF THE DOUGH IN TOTAL MAKES ABOUT 8 T0 10 PATTIES

.PRE HEAT OVEN TO 180 C / 356 F PLACE PATTIES ON BAKING TRAY COAT WITH EGG WASH

.COOK FOR ABOUT 15 TO 20 MINUTES
